Yuki Tanaka

The glitch is where the machine reveals its humanity. I am interested in the poetry of errors.

Yuki Tanaka occupies the liminal space between the physical and the digital. Raised in Kyoto and now based in Berlin, she began her career as a software engineer before enrolling at the Universitat der Kunste. Her practice blends generative algorithms with traditional printmaking techniques - code outputs rendered as risograph prints, screen glitches translated into silkscreen layers. The result is work that feels both ancient and impossibly contemporary. Yuki has shown at the Haus der Kunst in Munich, transmediale in Berlin, and was shortlisted for the Lumen Prize in 2024.
