Vasquez channels the rhythmic pull of ocean tides into an abstract composition of sweeping gestural marks and pooling color. The surface alternates between thick impasto passages - where the paint stands proud of the canvas - and thin, stained areas where pigment has been allowed to seep into the raw linen.
