About This Work
Named after the rare and elusive flower, 'Ghost Orchid' is a study in absence and presence. Noir builds the painting through a process of addition and subtraction - layering pigment only to scrape, sand, and wash it back, leaving ghostly traces of each previous state. The result is a palimpsest that speaks to the beauty of impermanence.
